Starting now, GM electric vehicles (Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac) can access 17,800 Tesla Supercharger locations. Owners can use their GM vehicle apps to purchase a GM approved NACS DC adapter for $225, as well as find charging stations and pay for sessions. In total, this gives GM customers access to more than 231,800 public level 2 charging stations and DC fast chargers!
GM joins Rivian and Ford as non-Tesla automakers who can now access Tesla Supercharger locations.
It should be noted that GM vehicles will not have access to ALL Tesla Superchargers, since older Supercharger units use a different protocol that isn't compatible with non-Tesla vehicles. So how can you identify if a specific Supercharger location will be compatible? Well you can check your GM vehicle's app, or use your favorite charging up to look at the charge speed of the Supercharger location. Tesla Superchargers with a charge speed capable of 250 kW are newer V3 units and will be compatible.
